The very first sculpture to go up at the Gladstone Base Hospital.
Not long after going into respite care we found out my Gran had been diagnosed with mouth cancer. I took my girls to visit her in Chinchilla. She is alllllways full of cheek even when she is in excruciating pain. I thought I might liven her day by telling her we were taking her on a little surprise but she had to be very quite so the nurses didn't find out. So we snuck out of the nursing home and started to or exhibition. I took her out to the property where her and Grandpa lived for most of there married life. So many awesome memories were made here for all of us grandchildren. I drove her around the farm and looked at the old sheds and paddocks. It was the best day, just to see the smile on her face. ( she wasnt so keen on me taking photo as the nurses still hadnt given her teeth back.) |
